As promised, and expected, my third novel, Crow, is now available for purchase via Amazon and I could not be more excited for it to be out in the world. It has been something of a trial for me to even finish. So, let’s look at the history of Crow right now!
Crow started out innocently enough – a modern-style murder mystery novel. The first time someone read it, they commented on the noir feel of what little there was – the way that Ashley, the main character, explained things in great detail and knew how to get her point across. So, I latched onto that and rolled with the punches from that point forward.
The next major evolution came when I started writing the novel proper. I was never certain what kind of story I was trying to tell, but in recent years, I have begun exploring origin stories for normally villainous characters – and I love to do it, because I see that these villains are not villains in their own mind, but from the perceptions of others. And that is what I like to tackle – complexity.
The final stage for Crow came as I approached the end of it. I’m not normally one to deliberately write sequel hooks, but Crow seemed a perfect fit for a follow up novel at some later stage in my life, due to the way I planned the story to end. And all through these stages, I was unsure if I even wanted to release Crow at all, but I found myself needing to do so – partly because it contains what I feel is some of my best writing.
But why are you still here? Get out there, purchase Crow, and read it for yourself!
