I promised myself I would never do such a thing, but everything a writer writes is something for the public to consume. That holds true with the only poem I have ever written. I wrote it during a dark period for me though the subject of it is quite upbeat. It was my way of seeing the brighter side of things, even if I could never have those things.
I do not claim to be a good poet, and I believe this is a terrible effort, but it is something that helps unravel the enigma that is me. It also explains why I never wish to write poetry. Without further ado, I present my only poem.
About You
By Timothy Connor
Her eyes are beautiful, soft
and powerful. That smile, oh
that smile makes me weak.
A millennium might pass yet
one thing… one thing is constant:
my love for her is eternal and
unconditional.
We may not
be perfect, but fate found us
alone and scared; lost
and broken.
Now, we are one
one life, one love, one
soul, bound not by
blood nor virtue.
We are bound
because fate demands, no,
decrees that we are
meant to be.
And nothing, not anything
will ever be able to
change the way I feel
about her.
About you.
As I said at the top: I am not a poet and never aspire to be one. I put this here for people to read and learn more about me.
I don’t find anything wrong with the poem. I liked it. It was simple and to the point. Not everything needs to be drawn out. Good job.

Well they say that a writer is their own worst critic. I am glad you liked it, so thank you.
