The Idea
One Hour Stories is a project I am embarking on as a way to expand on and improve my writing skills in a perpetual manner. I have a set of rules which will guide me through this whole project, which has no set end or release schedule. Indeed, this project will go on in perpetuity and nothing will relate to anything else, so expect some VERY experimental writing, as befits my personal style.
The Rules
- All stories have a writing time limit of sixty minutes
- The stories must have common story elements (beginning, middle, end)
- Grammar is unimportant
- No story will be edited after publication
- The stories do not need to be interconnected
- There is no genre requirement
- All stories will come with appropriate warnings in the title
The Warnings
As an experimental process, One Hour Stories is liable to include a variety of topics which some people may find triggering or disturbing. There will no doubt be themes which pop up some people may not wish to see. The stories can potentially be graphically sexual in nature.
The Goal
As stated, there is no real goal with One Hour Stories, other than working on my skills and giving a creative outlet for myself. Even if I find myself dissatisfied with the story I write, I will still put it out there, as part of improving and educating is to not shy away from the worst aspects of our craft.
