!!WARNING: VIOLENT AND GRAPHIC CONTENT!!

I need to preface this by saying I do not condone sexual assault or violence of any description. I do not condone violence against minors and the proper authorities should be informed in any real-life case of Sexual Assault, Child Abuse or Violence of any description.

My writing today was not as fluid in terms of being able to sit down and write, but that is because I was getting my future education sorted. I might already have a degree in Writing, but I have endeavoured to venture into the world of Secondary Education. It might not be a glamourous profession, but it is one that I feel is vital to the success of the next generation of writers. And I am all about cultivating a new generation of amazing writers.

Why do I want to encourage people to write? It’s because of the way the world works. Sure, writers are not guaranteed any monetary gain, but that is not why people should write. People should write because of the stories they tell. These stories are what inspire us to be the best we can be. I cannot imagine what a world without stories would look like and I do not wish it on any generation

  • What I Did Today

For today, there was a lot of work dedicated to building The Green Desert before one of the major plots arrives there. As such, I dedicated quite a lot to two distinct stories. One came direct from Abygail and it is about her experience as a child. She explains to Lyra that, even though The Green Desert is a lawless place, there is still a need to extend every courtesy possible. Without that courtesy, bad things will happen and while I had to take several respites during the visceral scene, there is something sadistically beautiful about what I wrote.

The other major story was building more about The Salt Sage and what his name means to the people of Terrus. It also drifts into the territory of unreliable narration, though I break the fourth wall during this period as a way to compensate for not being able to get the true story from The Salt Sage himself.

I have warned you about the themes contained in the following sample.

The reason I chose this graphic and visceral scene as my best for today was because of the story it builds, not the story it tells. The entire scene is designed for Abygail to show Lyra what will happen should she not listen. It also paints Abygail in a not-so-benevolent light as I feel she is not the anti-heroine character she should be.

‘I will not be called a mainlander, eh. I am proud of where I come from and what I do in life, eh. You are lucky I am tolerant of bigots like yourself, eh. There is no second chances when it comes to saying shit in The Green Desert, eh. Once you fuck up, that’s the end of everything for you, eh. I saw it happen once, eh. A boy of twelve from Rylnaar it was who disrespected the traditions of my people, eh. I watched a mob of angry citizens drag him through the streets and through the crowd of spectators, eh. They were ravenous as they ripped his clothes off and clawed at his skin, eh. His mother and father tried to intervene, but for their troubles, each received a bolt between the eyes, eh. That’s what we call a mercy in The Green Desert, eh. This boy got no such mercy once the mob forced him under the gallows, eh. Course, those gallows weren’t for hanging, but for much more sinister things, eh. They strapped his arms either side of him and forced his legs apart, eh. His little cock flailed around as he screamed and pleaded for the pain to stop, eh. Do you know what I did in the crowd, eh?’ Aby whispers.

Lyra shakes her head. The visceral nature of Aby’s words paralyse the large female and all she does is continue to stare into Aby’s hypnotic eyes. Lyra’s chest rises and falls with ease. Aby cannot weigh much, but even Lyra’s strength cannot move the indomitable Aby.

‘I don’t know. I can’t fathom the answer to that question. I don’t even want to think about it,’ Lyra says.

Aby runs a tender finger along Lyra’s jawline with a protracted sigh. It is not rare for Aby to get hands-on with anyone. It is rare for her to show any kind of emotion behind her actions. Lyra swears she can see some remorse in Aby’s eyes.

‘I did what every Green Desert child does, eh. I began to bet on which body part would be the first removed, eh. I loved to see the balls and cock comes off, eh. It is amazing how loud boys will scream as the knife separates them from what makes them a man, eh. It is custom for people to watch the entire process so that the lesson sticks in the mind of everyone, eh. What happened after the boy’s manhood came off was far more brutal, eh. A rite of passage for the males of The Green Desert is to partake in one of these public humiliations, eh. The two most well-endowed were the ones always chosen for this task, eh. One stood behind the boy and took his rear, eh. Most times, it would end up ripping the poor child apart, eh. The rear was always the easy part, eh. The hardest part was the other male, eh. The one who ruined the other side here the boy’s cock used to be, eh. The wails were not something people could stand for long, but we could not leave until the end, eh. Otherwise, the same would happen to us, eh. Of course, this boy got a little too loud so an elder stormed the stage, grabbed his tongue and ripped it out, eh. We’re a cruel people in The Green Desert, Lyra. You need to learn the courtesies or you will not leave in one piece. I don’t want that to happen to you,’ Aby says.

  • How Productive I Felt I Was

I feel I accomplished a lot of storytelling with the work for this week. While some might not agree with the methods I chose to use, it was not something I did lightly. I cannot say I enjoyed writing it, because I did not, but sometimes a writer does things that they do not agree with in order to advance the story.

  • What I Intend To Write Next Week

Next week will take a lighter turn as opposed to this week. I will look more at the aspects of the journey toward The Green Desert and how people entertain themselves aboard the Prudence.
